It approved a payment of $11,252.28 to the City of Long Beach Police for overtime under the Operation Stone Garden grant and authorized applications for FY 2028 funding for safety and conservation marine vessels.
The board approved a number of personnel and administrative orders, including adding personnel to the county's take-home vehicle list, mileage and travel reimbursements, and a budget line transfer in the fairgrounds and engineering budget. It approved claims dockets and specific claim actions, including payment of $900 for a wedding ring allegedly lost at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and denial of a claim seeking damages from a May 16 motor vehicle accident on Mississippi Highway 53.
On appointments, Supervisor Powers moved to appoint Anthony Del Viscovo of Beau Rivage as his representative to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center board; the motion was seconded and approved. The board also authorized temporary assistance to cities for infrastructure repairs under existing mutual-aid arrangements.
The board discussed whether to budget recurring charitable support for the American Heart Association and agreed to research statutory permissibility before taking a recurring budget action. Several parks and youth projects received supplemental funding after members voted to amend the parks and recreation budget to cover shortfalls.
