Lincoln County commissioners approve ballot measure to ask voters about commission form of government

A county staff member read the resolution at the meeting, citing Article XI, section 9 of the Montana Constitution and Title 7, Chapter 3 of the Montana Code Annotated as the governing authority for a local government review study commission’s recommendation. The resolution, as read to the board, would place before voters the question: whether Lincoln County should adopt the commission form of government authorized by state law.
Commissioners discussed a minor wording/formatting concern in the resolution text but agreed the ballot language would follow required formatting by election officials and did not reopen the certification. Commissioner (speaker 4) moved to approve the resolution; Chair (speaker 1) seconded and the board voted 'Aye.'
