The Waverly City Council approved resolution 2613 after a short public hearing and no public comments. Staff described the modification as adding specific project types to the TIF area B redevelopment plan so those projects would be eligible for Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) funding.
The projects listed for addition include workforce and affordable housing; land and real-estate acquisition and rehabilitation of existing structures; improvements to city-owned buildings (city office, city shop and the fire station); and intersection improvements (notably Highway 6 at North 141st Street and Highway 6 at 148th) with pedestrian-safety measures such as rectangular rapid-flashing beacons installed where engineers determine appropriate.
Council voted 3-0 to adopt resolution 2613 and close the hearing. The action allows the Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) to include those project types in the downtown redevelopment plan and to pursue TIP funding for eligible work.
