Rady reported April stumpage receipts of $20,946.96 and a year-to-date stumpage total of $223,590.39. The committee heard that 36 bids were received across the advertised tracts and that four jobs remain active in the department's inventory.
High bids presented by staff included Smola Enterprises ($156,380) for Tract 1-26 Training Day Hwd; Central Wisconsin Lumber ($118,155) for Tract 2-26 Phantom Buck Hwd; Smola Brothers, Inc. ($104,161) for Tract 3-26 BRGM 3; Al Mann Logging ($45,286) for Tract 4-26 Sidecar Aspen; Smola Brothers, Inc. ($140,127.50) for Tract 5-26 SOS Aspen; TNT Timber Improvement ($135,934) for Tract 6-26 Trapped Aspen; Al Mann Logging ($158,015) for Tract 7-25 Gray Dog Oak; Kleinschmidt Logging ($45,000) for Tract 11-25 Thunder Chicken Hwd; and CTO Logging, LLC ($24,427.50) for Tract 17-25 Way Back Aspen. Several tracts received no bids.
Committee member Sorgel moved to accept the high bids as presented; Schultz seconded the motion and all members voted aye. The committee recorded the award as a formal action to proceed with sale execution to the high bidders.
The timber-sale proceeds are recorded by the department as a key revenue source used to support forestry operations and stewardship projects. Staff did not present a schedule for harvest starts in the meeting; timing and contractor scheduling will be handled through contract administration and field coordination.
