City Manager Kyler Ludwig told the council the city purchased a replacement street sweeper and three patrol trucks under the fleet replacement program. When the new units enter service later this month, the existing street sweeper and three other vehicles will no longer be needed and will be declared surplus.
Councilmember Heaton moved to declare the listed equipment surplus and authorize staff to coordinate donation of the street sweeper with a neighboring community; Councilmember Shrope seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Staff said reassigned vehicles will replace aging fleet units in other departments and three vehicles will be made available for disposal once new patrol trucks are operational.
