Madelia council approves resolutions including support for Madelia Health financing

The council also approved a request from Piper and Jenna Collingham to combine adjacent parcels in the New Heights area after staff and the planning and zoning committee reported no issues.
Bill and Shelly Daily’s Registered Land Survey No. 7 was presented; staff reported no concerns and said the property will be annexed (one speaker clarified the parcel was already annexed). The council moved, seconded and approved the survey action.
During citizen communications a resident reported that Center Avenue street work is progressing and that a railroad sign will be installed; residents were asked to water front lawns where grass is sprouting. Joan Olson was announced as attending a June 8 workshop at 6:00 p.m. The speaker corrected the filing period for council and mayor candidacies to July 28, 2026. A tentative pool opening was discussed but no firm date was given.
The meeting concluded after a motion and second to adjourn; the council adjourned following a voice vote.
