The Village of Fishkill Planning Board voted June 18 to approve a hanging sign for Momo Pizza Shop at 19 Robinson Street, with the condition that the applicant submit an updated application showing the finalized artwork and color samples.
"Hi. Yeah, my name is Luc and I'm the owner of the pizza shop, Momo Pizza Shop," the owner said while presenting the revised design and three color samples. The board confirmed the sign dimensions as 2.2 by 2.2 feet (about 4.84 square feet) and asked the owner to email the final artwork so staff can update the application record.
Board members discussed whether the sign is technically over the sidewalk or the business's outdoor seating area. A planning board member said liability coverage would likely need to cover a sign that hangs where people walk. The owner said the new sign will replace the previous bracket and is the same size as the old sign.
Chair Hans Klingon called for a motion to approve the sign "as per application with corrections." The motion was seconded and carried; one member verbally signaled opposition during the voice vote, and the board accepted the application with the requested clarifications.
The board instructed staff to record the final dimensions and color samples and to follow up on the applicant's business liability coverage for a hanging sign. The planning board's next meeting is scheduled for July 16.
