She advised that the grant money should be used for that purpose and that city funds should not duplicate that spending, and staff was asked to follow up to clarify the source and intended uses of the grant funds.
Council members also discussed the broader approach to the project: the agreement is intended to remove two homes as part of work affecting several lots, with the expectation that proceeds from marketing or renting rehabilitated lots could help fund additional work. Councilors spoke in favor of rehabilitating as many properties as possible.
A motion to approve the development agreement was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
