Hugh Lee moved that the Commission submit a building permit application for the construction of two swallow shelter designs (umbrella and shed) as presented; the motion was seconded by Shawn Joyce. The Commission approved the motion with a vote of 5–1; Member Karen Oliver opposed the action. The building permit application will be submitted to the Building Department for review.
Commissioners previously agreed at an earlier meeting to move the project forward and at this meeting completed the paperwork to begin the permitting step. The approved motion is an administrative step enabling the town to seek required building-permit review rather than a funding or construction authorization.
