Board adopts code of conduct, attendance policy and wellness charter

The Wappingers Central School District Board on Thursday completed several policy actions for the 2026–27 school year, adopting a revised wellness committee charter and approving the code of conduct and attendance policies.
By resolution the board adopted policy number 5300 (code of conduct) and, by reference, policy number 5100 (attendance) for the 2026–27 school year. The code of conduct will be disseminated to staff, students, and parents/guardians with instructions on the policies and rules to be reviewed and followed. Trustee Ms. Calvin moved adoption of the code and attendance policy; Trustee Mr. Lumio seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also resolved to approve a revised wellness committee charter and completed second readings and adoption of multiple policies based on recommendations from the Policy Committee; motions were made and seconded with unanimous votes. Trustees noted that some minor wording changes were made to align district policy with state law and regulations.
No dissenting votes were recorded, and trustees indicated the policies would be disseminated to the relevant audiences as required.
