Coralville — The City Council on April 14 approved a High‑Quality Jobs Program agreement to support Morrison Weighing Systems’ planned expansion in Coralville.
City Administrator Kelly Hayworth told the council Morrison Weighing Systems has a purchase agreement on a building and has received approval from the Iowa Economic Development Authority to receive assistance through the state High‑Quality Jobs Program. "Morrison Weighing Systems are ready to move forward. They have a purchase agreement for the building and received approval from the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board for assistance," Hayworth said, adding the company hopes to begin work this summer on a 5,000‑square‑foot addition and to be in operation within six to nine months.
Council adopted Resolution No. 2026‑48 approving Agreement 26‑HQJP‑011 between Morrison Weighing Systems, the IEDA and the City. The resolution was introduced by Vogelzang and seconded by Peterson and declared adopted on roll call.
What’s next: City staff will finalize the assistance agreement and monitor project milestones along with IEDA reporting requirements.
