Commissioners approve $20,000 Community Solutions contract and OK courthouse use for DAR event

The Dubois County Commissioners approved a contract with Community Solutions not to exceed $20,000 to assist the JRAC board with grant funding acquisition and compliance for the remainder of the calendar year.
Commissioner Chad A. Blessinger said the JRAC board voted to use funding on the contract; a motion to approve the contract was made, seconded, and carried unanimously. Blessinger asked whether the county should continue working with Community Solutions in the future, and the board's consensus was to continue the relationship.
The board also approved use of the courthouse steps on July 8, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a nationwide Declaration of Independence reading organized by the Daughters of the American Revolution and Dubois County 250, pending receipt of a completed Courthouse Use Agreement.
Blessinger reminded the public of various Memorial Day events and said he would post details on the county Facebook page. He also reported that a trash complaint regarding the Kippenbrock property in Patoka Township will be addressed in Trash Court on June 15, 2026.
