Pike Road council holds first reading to pause Unified Development Code updates for 12 months

Rigsby framed the item as a pause to allow the town to incorporate consultant feedback and to avoid immediate changes to zoning that could affect pending projects. The council did not take a vote on the ordinance at the first reading.
At the same meeting Planning staff also noted the Planning Commission had approved a Development Plan for Chantilly Golf on Highway 80 at its previous session, contingent on tonight's re‑zoning action. The council will consider the UDC ordinance again at a future meeting once staff completes the follow‑up items outlined by the planner.
