Council members received a roads and utilities update at the June 2 meeting and approved purchase of a propeller-type meter for the well house.
Council Member Mike Ebner reported that roads have been graded once, tree cleanup continues on Aspen and Ridgeview, roadside ditch mowing will begin, and rock has been delivered for dust-control surfacing. Two residential meters have arrived as on-shelf backups. A propeller meter for the well house was discussed; Dessner previously estimated the cost at approximately $2,800, and the council approved purchase of the Metron propeller-type meter (motion by Travis Link, second by Robert Hart).
Ebner and the minutes also recorded equipment maintenance: on May 29 the upper door window on a backhoe shattered while in operation on Highway 30 and a replacement has been ordered from Hammels Equipment; the Freightliner repair is complete and the truck will be used more often to support operations. The council did not authorize additional road projects at this meeting beyond the reported work.
