Rushford Village council sets public hearing for proposed Fee Schedule Ordinance

The Rushford Village City Council voted May 19 to set a public hearing on a proposed Fee Schedule Ordinance (Ordinance #22) for 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the city office.
Travis Link, a council member, made the motion to set the hearing and Robert Hart seconded; the motion carried. The proposed ordinance would formalize fees for community center rentals, the Economic Development Authority (EDA), planning and zoning permits, alcohol licensing, miscellaneous services, animal control and utilities.
Jon Pettit, the city's planning and zoning administrator, told the council planning staff had completed proposed revisions to the fee schedule. Pettit said the proposal would eliminate previously common "no charge" permits by establishing a minimum permit fee of $30; councilor Robert Hart raised concerns about requiring permits for minor, non-footprint repairs and questioned a $100 recording fee that was intended to cover recording costs and staff time.
Setting a public hearing gives residents and stakeholders an opportunity to review the proposed fees and offer comments before the council votes on whether to adopt the ordinance. The council's next steps are to receive public comment at the June 16 hearing and then consider final action at that meeting or a subsequent council session.
