Polk County authorizes chair to sign weed-control summary showing no deficiencies

The board authorized Chairman Westring to sign the Weed Department’s Reports and Requirements Summary, which showed no deficiencies; Weed Superintendent Carlson reported about 20 miles of right-of-way sprayed so far and that sprayer calibration and inspections are upcoming.
Polk County commissioners on April 22 authorized Chairman Jerry Westring to sign the Weed Department’s Reports and Requirements Summary as required by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.
Committee member Boruch moved to authorize the chairman to sign the summary; Committee member Boss seconded. The roll call vote was Boruch, aye; Boss, aye; Westring, aye.
Weed Superintendent Carlson told the board the report showed no deficiencies. Carlson added that about 20 miles of right-of-way have been sprayed this season, chemicals have been delivered, leafy spurge and thistle inspections will be happening soon, and sprayer calibration will be finalized.
