Polk County commissioners approved a letter drafted by County Clerk Debra S. Girard supporting an application to pave two miles of 141st Road from S Road to U Road.
Committee member Boss moved to sign the letter; Boruch seconded the motion. The roll call vote was Boss, aye; Boruch, aye; Westring, aye. Clerk Girard’s draft will be included with Highway Superintendent Theis’ application to Congressman Flood’s office for Community Project Funding.
Highway Superintendent Theis updated the board on Road Department operations: the maintainer approved at a prior meeting has been ordered, an order of culverts will be picked up from Midwest Service & Sales in Schuyler, and reports from local gravel pits indicate gravel supplies are low. The crew is scheduled to resume using the drag on county roads next week.
The minutes do not record dollar amounts for the paving request or the Community Project Funding application; the action recorded is approval to include the letter with the application.
