Polk County commissioners approve claims that include large road-fund engineering and equipment payments

Inc.-Clarks for $9,767.77. The COVID American Rescue Plan Fund showed an equipment payment of $25,000 to Blanchat MFG Inc.; the Inheritance Tax Fund included vendor payments such as Midland Telecom Inc. for $3,542.94 and Applied Connective Technologies for $3,002.88. Senior services claims included $12,915.57 to Midwest Covenant Home.
The motion before the board was omnibus (allowing the listed claims and routing warrants); no separate defeats or roll-call vote irregularities were recorded. The clerk recorded that claims were audited prior to the motion.
Why it matters: large one-time or contracted payments in the Road Fund and ARP-funded equipment purchases affect county balances and near-term budgeting priorities; commissioners approved these disbursements as part of standard claims processing.
