Spencer County commissioners approved hiring Janet Stricker on June 25 as a part‑time administrative assistant in the judge’s office at $18 an hour.
The chair said three candidates were interviewed and recommended Stricker for the part‑time role. “I selected Janet Siden Stricker and we agreed on the part-time at 18 an hour,” the chair said, and later asked the new hire to pronounce her name to ensure correct spelling and pronunciation.
Commissioner Mike moved to approve the hire and the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. The chair said she expected Stricker to begin work July 2 or July 3, pending completion of hiring requirements.
The board did not discuss program funding or a budget ordinance for the hire during the meeting.
