The Bradley County Commission met in regular session Dec. 15 and approved a series of routine and substantive motions.
The body unanimously approved Resolution 2025-51 authorizing participation in the Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), a cooperative purchasing program, and adopted the meeting's consent agenda, which included multiple budget amendments and departmental items recorded as attachments.
Two annexation interlocal agreements with the City of Cleveland were approved after recorded roll-call votes. Resolution 2025-52, authorizing annexation of approximately 0.34 acres on Strawberry Lane (owner: Daniel L. Smith; parcel 058B C 007.00), passed 11-1. Resolution 2025-53, authorizing annexation of roughly 5.8 acres on Frontage Road (owner: Bruner One, LLC; parcels 014 055.00 and 014 056.01), passed 9-3.
The commission also approved a series of administrative motions without recorded opposition. Those votes included canceling the Dec. 22 work session, supporting an initiative to install turf on the infields of the county's four parks (project planning to be led by the mayor and Parks & Recreation director), and requiring that any Payment-In-Lieu-Of-Taxes (PILOT) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) agreements go through two work sessions before a final vote.
In a separate procedural motion the county authorized the county attorney to draft a letter to the state legislature opposing a proposed mental health facility; later in the meeting the commission voted to go on the record in opposition and include the minutes with the letter.
The meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
