Juvenile humpback whale found dead on Ditch Plains Beach; agencies notified

Surf instructor and photographer Corey Senise, who delivers a daily surf report on Instagram, said he arrived at the scene about 5:30 a.m. and described the carcass as "the stinkiest smell I've ever smelled. It was really bad." He estimated the animal to be about 35 feet long and said he reported it to the East Hampton Town Police Department and the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society.
The broadcast said Atlantic Marine Conservation Society could not immediately be reached for comment. The report did not include a cause of death or any necropsy results; viewers were urged to rely on official agencies for updates as marine responders assess the animal and the scene.
