Premier Lakes reports maintenance progress; compressor sound reduced but tone remains a concern

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes briefed the River Ridge board on July 23 that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas were generally in good condition though seasonal algae growth was observed. Kurth said a palm tree at the shoreline of Lake E7A had been removed as part of routine maintenance.
Kurth reported that installing a cabinet around the compressor reduced the measured sound level at Masters Lake from about 64 decibels to about 52 decibels; he called the reduction acceptable. Operations Manager Shane Willis said the issue is more the tone of the aerator than the absolute decibel level and the board discussed options including moving the compressor and easement constraints. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to explore moving the compressor and report findings at the next meeting.
Mr. Schultz summarized flooding concerns in Edgewater and proposed installing piping, additional littorals on Lake E-4A and rip-rap; the board agreed that Canna lilies should not be planted and placed Lake E4-A plantings on hold until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association. Kurth left the call after his report.
