Adams County approves $540,000 amendment to Riverdale golf management contract

The Adams County Board of Commissioners voted June 23 to approve Amendment 1 to the agreement with Professional Recreation Management Incorporated, authorizing $540,000 for continued management of Riverdale Golf Facility.

Byron Fanning, who presented the item as a representative of the county’s Parks, Open Space and Cultural Arts Department, reviewed revenue and profit figures showing growth since 2019: "In 2019 we generated $3.2 million in revenue... In 2024 we made $5.5 million," Fanning said, and added profit figures: "We made $799,000 profit in 2019, $2.4 million profit in 2024," which he said accounted for capital projects paid from the golf enterprise fund. Fanning also highlighted course improvements under Professional Recreation Management’s ownership, including a new irrigation system and clubhouse amenities.

After staff presentation and a brief acknowledgement from a commissioner that the enterprise fund is healthy, a commissioner moved and another seconded the resolution to approve the $540,000 amendment; the board approved the motion.
