Highway superintendent reports new excavator, $26,000 CHIPS boost and plans to auction older equipment

Ben also reported the delivery of a new excavator and asked the board for approval to put an older case excavator out to auction once remaining tasks with the machine are finished. The board discussed timing and recommended waiting until the next meeting before finalizing auction details.
The highway report was accepted by motion. Board members praised recent culvert work in public comment and asked staff to obtain pricing for roof repairs at a shared salt-shed due to corrosion concerns.
