Fluvanna County’s Board of Supervisors received a brief update on June 3 regarding a potential refunding of debt previously taken for the James River Water Authority.
County Administrator Eric M. Dahl said staff are reviewing whether the county can achieve debt‐service savings over the remaining life of the loan, and that preliminary estimates of potential savings are roughly between $200,000 and $281,000 over the life of the loan. Dahl presented the item as an informational briefing; no board action was taken at the meeting.
If staff recommend moving forward with a refunding, the board would expect a future agenda item with detailed financing terms and a formal motion to approve any refinancing.
