Board approves ambulance deposit and $136,573 PC purchase under planned budgets

At its March 23 meeting the Waterford Township Board authorized two capital purchases included in the 2026 budget.
Fire Chief Nye requested release of the required 10% deposit ($77,852) to Emergency Vehicles Plus to secure production of two 2026 Road Rescue Type I Ultramedic ambulances (Ford F550 chassis), part of a previously approved 2026 Fire Department capital plan. The total contract price is $778,532; the vendor committed to delivery by end of 2026. Trustees approved release of the deposit from the Fire Department capital vehicles line.
IT Director Jared Black asked the Board to approve a Sourcewell pre-bid government contract purchase of 122 desktop PCs at $1,119.45 each for a total of $136,572.90, part of a five-year replacement plan to keep hardware within a five-year lifecycle. Black explained rising chip prices and advised acting quickly to avoid further increases. The Board approved the PC purchase unanimously.
Both items were awarded per existing procurement policies (pre-bid contract for PCs; budgeted capital purchase for ambulances). No dissenting votes were recorded.
