Dundy County approves road-route changes, John Deere blade purchase and notes annex water damage

After reviewing recommendations from then-Roads Supervisor Kurt Sellers, the board approved proposed changes to road maintenance routes (motion by Commissioner Aaron Keiser; seconded by Chairman Sye Tecker; ayes unanimous). Commissioners reviewed competing bids for road grader blades from B’s Enterprises Inc., CAT, and John Deere; citing cost and delivery timing, they accepted the John Deere bid and noted Chase County offered to share a load to reduce costs.
Commissioners briefly reviewed personnel status at the Haigler roads shop and reported no current supervisor at that location. Separately, a major water-heater failure in the annex building on June 10 caused extensive water damage; Ag Extension Wendi Vanderford will work remotely until further notice while the County Attorney’s office continues operations in the annex building.
The actions move procurement and route changes into implementation with the Roads Department; the board scheduled a special budget meeting for June 22 to address over-budget department lines.
