He identified two alternates in Bid Package 2: the Marvin Vivid collection (alternate two) at $116,193 and the Marvin Modern collection (alternate three) at $194,728. "The modern has approximately 10 to 12 week lead time for procurement and the vivid has approximately 5 to 7 week lead time," Sean said, adding that either option could be managed and both would keep the project within budget.
Why it matters: the facilities committee recommended the higher-cost Marvin modern triple-pane option for expected longevity. "We recommend the modern triple-pane windows ... the extra expense is worth it and we expect a nice long lifetime," Sean said. The board asked questions about product specifications, and Sean confirmed both alternates include triple-pane glazing as bid and that Marvin had not identified differences in warranty coverage; the bidding documents specify a 20-year manufacturer warranty on finishes and a 10-year warranty on the glass.
Board members also discussed color choices. Sean and district staff said stock colors (including brown and ebony) carry the same price in the bids and that an architect-led color-selection submittal process is expected within roughly two weeks. Sean said he had checked lead times about 24 hours earlier.
The board held a roll-call vote and the chair announced the motion passed. The motion to approve Resolution 2025 2026-9 was made by B. Johnson and seconded by Severs. The votes were recorded as in the meeting transcript and read by roll call; the chair announced the motion passes.
The district will proceed with the procurement and the forthcoming submittal process to confirm color and final shop drawings before ordering. The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
