The MSD Pike Township School Board completed several routine action items at its June 25 meeting, approving minutes from the June 11 meeting, adopting education policies presented by Dr. Maggie Bishop and approving the district’s 2026–2027 classified, transportation and loving care handbooks.
A motion to lift a certified human‑resources case (case number 06252026) from the HR report for a separate supplemental vote was made and carried. Later in the agenda the board considered that extracted item: Mr. Omar moved to accept Ramon Stallings as co‑athletic director pending the completion of any required background checks and Mr. Stallings’ appointment was seconded and approved. A board member announced a recusal before the Stallings vote; the chair recorded the recusal and the motion passed with those voting in favor responding "I." The transcript records the member stating, "I'm recusing myself from this vote." (recorded in the meeting minutes as a recusal.)
Mr. Eric Elmore presented the human‑resources report and the board voted to approve the report while removing the administrative staff appointment for separate consideration. Elmore also presented the 2026–27 handbooks; during that discussion Ms. Kelly noted that several phone numbers in the handbooks omit area codes and suggested adding the 317 area code for parent materials before publication.
Ms. Monet Gray presented action items E (claims and allowances) and F (contracts). The board moved, seconded and voted to accept both items as presented. No roll‑call tallies were recorded in the oral transcript; votes were called by voice as "All in favor say I," and those present answered.
The board adjourned after a period of board member remarks, including recognition of policy work and student and athletic achievements.
