The Socorro City Council approved the preliminary and final plat for Alameda Center, a one‑acre C‑1 commercial lot at 10201 and 10211 Alameda Avenue. Staff recommended approval and the planning and zoning commission had voted to approve the plat.
TJ Karam, the property representative who joined the meeting via Zoom, told council the development deal is near final and said the corner will be receiving a Starbucks coffee shop. Council members reacted positively to the announcement and the council approved the plat by voice vote.
Staff noted the site plan submitted with the application shows commercial uses and access via existing driveways; the applicant’s representative is expected to continue coordination with staff on final site plans and permitting.
