Upper Hanover directs plan for Camelot Park playground replacement and honors pond‑restoration volunteers

The Upper Hanover Township Board of Supervisors provided guidance on a replacement playground project for Camelot Park at its May 12 meeting and adopted multiple resolutions recognizing staff and volunteers.
Supervisor Stefan Laessig asked Manager Anne W. Klepfer to develop a plan that maintains the playground's current footprint to help contain costs, uses engineered woodchips instead of poured rubber surfacing, and includes a handicap swing bay. The board directed staff to obtain comparable quotes for replacement equipment and specifically requested pricing that preserves most of the existing layout. Board members did not decide at the meeting whether to pursue sponsorships or external funding for the project.
In special business the board adopted Resolutions 2026‑13 through 2026‑15 and 2026‑20 through 2026‑22 recognizing municipal service: Eugene Marks, Carey Brinckman, Kristin Walcott, Marcia Roshon (30 years of service in the maintenance department), Larry Roeder and volunteers Sunni Barndt, Pat Dayton, Eve Puhala and JoAnn Redmond for conservation efforts restoring Camelot Park Pond.
The board also discussed benches and maintenance for the township's pickleball courts and authorized work on replacement of the Mill Hill parking‑lot gates. The board declined to authorize removal of untagged tree stands from Mill Hill Preserve.
