At 11:30 a.m. the board heard from resident Joe Simpson, who requested relocation of a culvert on Two Mile Bridge Road that she said may be adversely affecting her property.
Simpson described site conditions and noted that relocating the culvert from its current placement could cost more than $5,000. County Attorney Alex Nixon said he had spoken with Charlie Waples about clearing the culvert to the south and capping a new culvert for urgent situations. Simpson also said a borrow pit exists north of the culvert that might be used as a relocation site. The board reached an agreement to visit the site in April to determine what actions — if any — to take. No formal action or funding commitment was made at the meeting.
Next steps: commissioners will inspect the culvert site in April and then determine whether relocation or other repairs are warranted.
