County to seek road-encroachment permit from CenturyLink after utility line strike; $6,000 reimbursement requested

Civil Attorney Jacque Papez told Carbon County Commissioners that a county road crew struck a CenturyLink line on Cottonwood Road in Roberts and CenturyLink has requested $6,000 in reimbursement. Papez said the county will request that CenturyLink provide a road encroachment permit for the line being in the road.
Papez also briefed the board on an upcoming pre-trial in the "Matriarch" matter scheduled right before Thanksgiving and a trial planned for December; she said an individual identified as Bennet still does not have counsel, so that matter remains on hold. The board and attorney also discussed re-permitting the Bishoff gravel pit on Sunlight Ranch in Commissioner Miller's district.
No motion or vote on CenturyLink's reimbursement request was recorded in the minutes; the attorney indicated the county will pursue a permit for the line and continue legal follow-up on the other items.
