Plaistow ZBA to redline draft bylaws and bring suggested edits to July 15 meeting

At the June 25 Plaistow Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting members reviewed a set of draft bylaw examples from comparable towns and agreed to homework: each member will review the materials and bring suggested redlines to the board's next meeting on July 15.
Board members said they had received several example packets and discussed focusing on practical sections such as communications and the rules-of-procedure appendix. One member suggested pulling excerpts from other towns' drafts into a Plaistow redline to compare language; another suggested the group work collaboratively on a single Word document at the next meeting.
Shay (staff) said a Word version of the town's current bylaws would be available and could be displayed on-screen for the July 15 meeting so members could add proposed edits live. "I'll have that available up on the screen for next meeting," Shay said.
Members noted that once the ZBA settles on a draft it will need attorney review and a public hearing before adoption. The board agreed to continue reviewing the materials by comparing the Plaistow language with examples from Newton, Hanover and other comparable towns, and to return with redlines or suggested insertions at the July 15 meeting.
