Trustees debated drainage and the number of entrance cuts and weighed maintenance considerations. One trustee said, “I would recommend the hot asphalt ... do it right the first time,” arguing that hot-mix would require less maintenance. The board moved to accept Briers Paving bids identified in the packet as estimate numbers 892 and 895 for the hot-mix option; the motion passed 7-0.
Staff said the contractor expects to complete the work in time for the football season (the bid completion date listed as Aug. 15). Trustees authorized the bid acceptance without recorded conditions or amendments in the meeting minutes.
