Perryton ISD board OKs 10-cent increase for paid lunches; breakfasts unchanged

"We're recommending that we go up 10 cents on our meals for our paid meals and we're not recommending a change on breakfast," the staff member said during the presentation. The board approved the price change 7-0.
Board member Mrs. Walker added context, saying the district was behind on meal pricing partly because of a previous one-time 25-cent increase and that the current recommendation was in line with peer districts. The vote allows district nutrition staff to implement the new paid-lunch price for the coming school year; staff said breakfast pricing will remain at current levels.
The change was presented as routine and designed to align the district with federal guidance while minimizing impacts on families.
