The Sawyer County Board approved the minutes from the Sept. 17, 2024 meeting on a motion by Supervisor Stacey Hessel, seconded by Supervisor John Suralski; the motion carried without negative vote.
Committee chairs provided routine updates. The Public Works Committee, led by Mr. Marc D. Helwig, summarized department projects. The Land, Water, and Forest Resources Committee reported and the board considered a resolution authorizing the zoning department to apply for DNR grant funds to address aquatic invasive species (AIS); Supervisor Tweed Shuman moved to approve the resolution, seconded by Ms. Kay Wilson, and the motion carried (the minutes note Supervisor Marshal Savitski was absent for that vote).
The Economic Development & UW Extension Committee and Finance Committee provided updates; the minutes show sales-tax revenues had decreased slightly statewide. Board-appointed committees reported on meetings with NWCEP and Namekagon Transit activity. County Administrator Mr. Albarado provided a written report and verbal recap.
The meeting adjourned at 9:37 p.m.; the next board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 12, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room. Minutes were recorded by Lynn Fitch, County Clerk.
