Waukesha — The Waukesha Utility Commission on Jan. 16 approved routine payments from the general and improvement funds and designated the utility’s bank and investment depositories for calendar year 2025.
Commissioners moved to approve disbursements after a brief discussion of line items. An agency official told the commission that a pilot payment check of $721,493 was issued (described as one of three such checks), and staff identified a $705,000 wire transfer as the closing payment for land on Chapman Drive for a planned operations facility. The official also noted a $30,000 check to the treasurer tied to a water softener rebate program and $30,000 per year for website and public outreach services.
Courtney, who explained banking arrangements to the commission, said the commission will continue to use Waukesha State Bank (including its investment branch, Waukesha Investments) as the servicing bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank for certain electronic banking flows and the State of Wisconsin Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) for investments. “Waukesha State Bank is our servicing bank… We have great rates through them,” Courtney said.
The commission carried the motion to designate those depositories for 2025. No dissenting votes were recorded in the meeting transcript. The items will be reflected in the utility’s financial records and are standard housekeeping ahead of the new calendar year.
