Other Youth Board members described specific aims: improving representation of residents under 18, providing feedback on public spaces and programs, and strengthening communication between youth and municipal government. Breyer (communications director) and Madeline (vice chair) emphasized the Board’s intent to remain advisory, not a funded department, and expressed readiness to meet monthly.
Township staff responded that Youth Board members had previously been invited to attend the Green Team as an example of advisory committee structure and encouraged the youth to attend the June 1 Green Team meeting to continue conversation. No formal recognition vote was taken at the May 26 meeting; officials directed follow-up engagement.
