Worth County supervisors approve drainage reports, work orders and routine claims

The Worth County Board of Supervisors approved a series of routine actions including two drainage reports, two work orders, pending and regular claims, and payroll eligibility during its meeting.
Engineers presented the DD6 (B6 lateral 7) drainage report and described two improvement options: connecting an existing ditch to the main tile and a more extensive replacement/upsizing. The consultant noted an estimated $271,000 for the ditch improvement (engineering excluded) and an alternative of about $370,000 for a full 1-in improvement; any assessment would be charged to the tile portion and reclassification work underway will refine per-acre assessment calculations. The board voted to file the DD6 lateral 7 report.
The board also approved filing a DD11 new lateral report in response to a petition from Doug Meyer for an existing lateral to be taken into district maintenance if landowners agree. Staff said the three principal landowners are Paul Anderson, James Proll and Doug Meyer and that acceptance of the facility by the district would be voluntary.
Supervisors approved work orders to repair washouts on DD10 and DD23, approved pending and regular claims, and approved payroll eligibility for an employee listed in the meeting paperwork. The board adopted Resolution 2026-20 designating the official physical location for public meeting notices under Iowa law.
No formal vote on the Solar West vested-rights resolution occurred; that item was discussed separately and is scheduled for follow-up next week.
The meeting adjourned after confirming next week’s agenda.
