School committee approves $6,673 stipends for literacy and math curriculum coaches

A similar presentation for the math coach emphasized balanced assessment planning, grade-level problem solving and support for tier-two and tier-three interventions. Both motions were made, seconded and approved on recorded voice votes with the chair confirming 5–0–0 tallies.
Committee members asked whether the stipend positions are intended for current staff performing extra work; staff confirmed stipends would compensate additional work outside regular contracted duties and that positions would be posted. The committee did not specify the number of individuals who ultimately may hold each stipend; staff indicated each stipend is an individual award but could be split if needed.
Next steps: Human resources will post the stipend opportunities and the district will report back with hires or splits as positions are filled.
