School committee approves two $6,673 stipends for academic curriculum coaches in literacy and math

At the June 23 meeting the Burlington School Committee approved two separate stipend motions to support curriculum coaching for literacy and math.
The committee approved a 2026–27 academic curriculum coach literacy stipend of $6,673 per year (vote recorded 5-0). The role is intended to support MTSS implementation, common formative assessments and professional development across elementary, middle and high school.
The committee then approved a 2026–27 academic curriculum coach math stipend, also $6,673 per year, with similar responsibilities focused on math instruction, balanced assessment planning and K–12 data protocols; that motion passed 5-0 as well. Staff said positions will be posted; the stipend compensates work outside of a regular contracted day and the district may receive applications from central-office staff or current teachers.
