Deputy Superintendent Nicole DeWitt and instructional staff framed the resolution as an effort to shift from pandemic-era device distribution toward research-backed, pedagogy-centered use of technology. Julie Garcia, senior director of instructional technology, outlined the district's multi-decade technology work—including the 2009 i21 initiative, one-to-one device rollouts, and professional learning for teachers—then described classroom examples of technology that prioritize student creation over passive consumption. Torin Allen, who leads integrated technology, described infrastructure upgrades and the district’s deployment of flexible content filtering and classroom-management software (Blocksi) along with teacher and parent training.
