Cridersville addresses Legacy Park repairs, camera installation and property acquisition

Council members used the June 2 meeting to report progress on park repairs and property matters that affect public safety and day‑to‑day services in Cridersville.
Stacey Cook said TSC installed fiber at Legacy Park to support upcoming camera installation and that the pavilion manufacturer replaced a toilet and a bathroom light sensor. Cook said residents had reported children climbing onto the pavilion roof and asked council and police to monitor the park; she said cameras should help and cautioned that the village may need to “make an example” of trespassers because climbing on the roof is dangerous. Beuhler Asphalt finished paving the Legacy Park parking lot and will complete striping soon.
Administrator Jarid Kohlrieser said the village applied for a grant through the Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation for two round picnic tables for the Legacy Park pavilion; indoor tables already received were damaged and the village is awaiting vendor guidance. Kohlrieser said he signed paperwork to obtain 120 W. Main St. after Blass Residential Services released its purchase; the village is waiting for all liens to be released before full ownership can transfer. Council also reported that Tom’s Construction and Choice One Engineering will perform restoration work where ground settled after last year’s sanitary sewer project and that the annual village Clean‑Up Day produced roughly 120 cubic yards of material.
Chief Miller reminded the council the Jamboree is scheduled for July 10–12 and that a 5K and car show will take place; he also noted the fire department is finishing purchases from a grant.
