Williams told the board she has heard complaints—students running stop signs and riding the wrong way—and suggested the city could draft rules similar to Louisville’s existing ordinance. She recommended the board lead or support an interlocal approach with regional police departments to address safety across neighboring communities.
Board members indicated support for Williams taking the lead on the effort; the board did not take formal action at this meeting to adopt an ordinance or direct the city attorney to prepare draft language. The item remains at the discussion stage pending further coordination with the city.
