The Village of Cridersville council voted unanimously March 10 to close the street from Main/Gay to the alley on April 19 to accommodate the Bears Den property auction.
Village Administrator Jarid Kohlrieser told council the auction is scheduled to begin about 10 a.m. with property sales expected around 3:30 p.m. Jerry Myers, who requested the closure, asked that the road be blocked to allow setup and display of the building’s contents. Kohlrieser said New Life Scientific is not open on Saturdays, so semitrailer access is not expected to be impeded; the village discussed using the village’s back parking lot if a full closure could not be arranged.
Eric West moved to close the street for the auction; Dorance Thompson seconded the motion and it passed 5-0. Council did not specify additional traffic-control measures at the meeting; staff indicated they would coordinate impacted businesses.
