Silver Creek Township approves minutes and disbursements, directs treasurer to pay IRS balance

The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors carried several routine administrative items at its Jan. 6 meeting.
The board approved the agenda and then approved minutes from Nov. 6, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16 with the recorded abstentions noted in the minutes. Supervisor Ryan Nelson moved to approve the presented list of disbursements; Supervisor Sandy Forsman seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
The board addressed an overdue IRS payment and voted (motion by Supervisor Ryan Nelson, second by Supervisor Andy Christensen) to have the treasurer pay the balance (motion carried 4-0). Maintenance reported that the 2023 John Deere tractor purchased through MN Equipment is expected to arrive within a week, and the board praised staff for deicing roads after freezing rain.
The board approved posting two full-time maintenance positions and a clerk/treasurer posting on Indeed with up to $500 allowed for each posting (motion carried 4-0). Chair Helman asked to table driveway application and hall rental reviews because of time; the board agreed to defer those items. Supervisor Ryan Nelson moved to adjourn, Supervisor Andy Christensen seconded and the meeting ended at 9:17 p.m.
These items were procedural; no new policies or contracts were adopted on Jan. 6 beyond directing payment of the IRS balance and authorizing job postings.
