The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors completed reorganization actions at its Jan. 6 meeting, approving leadership roles, keeping committee assignments and increasing several pay rates.
Supervisor Ryan Nelson moved and Supervisor Andy Christensen seconded a motion to approve Mike Helman as chairman and to designate Supervisor Geyen as road boss; the motion carried 3-0 with Helman recorded as abstaining. The board left current committee memberships unchanged and kept the twice-monthly meeting schedule; the annual cleanup day was set for May 2, 2026.
On compensation, the board approved increasing monthly pay for the chairman and the road boss to $600 per month (motion carried 3-0, Helman abstained). The board also approved a raise in maintenance pay to $38 per hour; part-time help will be paid $35 per hour when plowing and $30 per hour otherwise (motion carried 4-0).
These changes took effect on the board’s vote and will be reflected in payroll going forward. The board discussed publication and bank relationships as part of the reorganization but did not change committee assignments or meeting cadence.
