Chair Jay Keyser called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The commission briefly adjourned into an executive session at 5:01 p.m. to discuss personnel matters and reconvened at 5:18 p.m., according to the minutes.
The consent agenda — covering the Jan. 28 meeting minutes, the Feb. 25 financial report, payment of bills totaling $120,805.79, and the January 2026 chief’s report — was approved on a motion by Gary Volovnik and seconded by Hal Schirmer. The minutes state that all present voted in favor.
Under business, Chief Paul T. Dickinson Jr. asked the commission to authorize conditional offers to candidates Troy Rodgers, Tyler Gero and Cole Surridge. The commission approved the offers on a motion by Volovnik, seconded by Schirmer; the offer to Surridge is contingent on a successful background investigation, per the minutes.
Commissioner Jim Nietupski asked whether the hires would restore staffing to the department’s recommended level of 14 officers; the minutes record the answer as yes. Chair Keyser also asked about HVAC improvements approved at the December meeting; Chief Dickinson said work is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m. on a motion by Hal Schirmer, seconded by Gary Volovnik. The minutes were signed by Chief Paul T. Dickinson Jr.
