Sci Fi Networks tells Kenosha committee fiber construction finished; restoration expected within days to weeks

Sci Fi Networks told Kenosha’s Public Works Committee on June 1 that the company has completed its main construction phase across the city and provided fiber access to roughly 47,000 housing units, with about 4,500 businesses and residents currently taking service.
Robert Wazzo, representing Sci Fi Networks, described the work completed and outlined the company’s remaining tasks. “At the end of last year, we finished all of our main construction work for the city and have successfully completed fiber access to 47,000 odd units across all of Kenosha,” Wazzo told the committee. He said the company is focusing now on ground restoration where construction finishing occurred late in the previous year and on follow-up work raised by residents.
Asked by a committee member how fast boulevard and yard restoration would be completed, Wazzo said his contractor expected to finish the ground restoration and hydroseeding “by the end of this week,” but added that depending on weather and volume of outstanding items the work could take up to two weeks. On undergrounding service lines for connections completed in winter months, Wazzo said Sci Fi expects to complete burial and backfill work “by the end of June.”
Wazzo also told the committee that for service connections completed in spring and later, the company aims to finish final burying within about 10 days after installation, provided weather and site conditions permit. The committee moved to receive and file the update.
The update did not include new funding requests or changes to the city’s permitting authority; members and a resident later commended city crews for boulevard work in a separate comment.
